It is always nice to see someone you have known for a long time doing well.  That is why we are very happy for our friends at Union Square Computer Repair.  They were just awarded First Place for Best Computer Services in the Bay Area in SF Gate's 2010 Best of the BayList. If you are in the San Francisco area and need your Apple computer repaired these guys are highly recommended by us.  Just tell them Aleah's Treasures or Nathan sent you.  Here is their press release from winning the contest.

San Francisco, CA, June 2010 — Union Square Computer Repair won first place in the San Francisco Gate's Best of the BayList 2010 Award for Best Computer Services. Over 71,000 Bay Area residents voted on several categories with Union Square Computer Repair coming out on top as their favorite computer repair shop. The repair shop's services are exclusive to Apple Macintosh products, and they are no stranger to receiving awards. In 2008 they were named San Francisco's Best Mac Repair Shop in SF Weekly's annual Best of San Francisco issue.

Union Square Computer Repair began as the PowerBook Guy in 1997 as an Internet-based company repairing the extensive line of Apple electronic products.  A walk-in facility opened in 2007 in the historic Flood Building in downtown San Francisco.  Renamed Union Square Computer Repair in 2010, they still exclusively repair Apple products from the MacBook and MacBook  Pro to the new iPad and iPhone. Open every day, their Apple-Certified Technicians are ready to serve the needs of Apple product owners wanting only skilled hands working on their machines.

Union Square Computer Repair is open Monday-Friday 10am-7pm and Saturday-Sunday 10am-5pm. Use the entrance across the street from the Westfield Mall, or the secondary entrance at 71 Ellis Street next to John's Grill.

Express Check-In of the product needing repaired can be completed at the company website at www.unionsquarecomputerrepair.com. Fill out the online form including the description of the problem and then drop off the device at the shop. The friendly service technicians are fast to begin with, but the Express Check-In Service makes the check-in process and turnaround time for repairs even faster.

RedLaser Review PDF Print E-mail

Did you know your iPhone can make sure you aren't getting screwed on the price when you are purchasing something?

While not a new iPhone application, RedLaser warrants a positive review on my little blog.  I downloaded the application while I was out with my kids getting ideas for Christmas.  I didn't have a pen or paper and I wanted to write down some of the stuff my son and daughter were pointing out.  I remembered a friend of mine had mentioned a barcode scanner for the iPhone that searched Amazon and Google Product Search for the best prices.  After installing the app I started taking pictures of the barcode with the application.  It compiled a list of the items with a small images and prices form several online and big box retailers.  In addition it allowed me to send a the list with links to the items through email.  It was near perfect for the situation.

This is the first blog post.  Not much to say now.  Just hard at work setting up this website.  I hope to have many of my necklaces, earrings, and bracelets up in the cart soon.  Silver jewelry, bronze sculpture and other fine artwork pieces will be up prior to Christmas.  Check back soon for updates.
